Bragging Rights

Occasionally we surprise ourselves.  There have been times our furniture has shown up in unexpected places.  Like the time we wanted to get away (mentally) and went to the movie An Eye For An Eye with Sally Fields and saw our Southwest Bench in the hallway of her very beautiful(movie) home.  You would have thought that we saw our child in the movie.  We both let out a huge shriek of surprise, which would have been okay except it wasn’t during one of the more intense scenes of the movie.  It was during a “quiet time”.  Since then, we have matured a little and tried not to embarrass ourselves so much.  Now, we act like it is second nature.  Notice I say “act”.  Because, it never really is.  It is always fun and unexpected to see one of our “family members” have a cameo appearance in a movie, or someplace special.

You see, we never know.  The cameo appearance police never call us.  So it is always a big surprise.  Granted, there are probably not too many couples who go to movies to see the furniture, but we honestly do.  We are always looking, scoping it out.  Not just for our stuff but for other looks and pieces to do.  Resources, abound they are everywhere.

Lately, we were surprised to find out that two of our pieces are in the movie The Proposal.  But the one that was the most thrilling for us was in the May issue of Architectural Digest, in Gerard Butler’s very amazing New York Loft.  I guess the “thrilling” part was not that it was Gerard Butler (although he is very nice looking, ladies) but that the designer incorporated us into what we believe is the most wonderful interior of anything we have seen to date.   The words of Gerard himself speak volumes about his place..”I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque.”  We are honored to be a small part of such a look.

I know that many of our network of dealers have sold some pieces to people of importance and they have had their own little moment in the starlight.  It’s always fun to hear about and to know.  We should compile a list sometime.  I think many would be surprised!
